NLA Female Staff Join Liberia in Celebrating International Women’s Day

The Management and Staff of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) on Friday joined women across Liberia and around the world in celebrating International Women’s Day, with more than 80 female employees participating in activities marking the global observance.

International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8, celebrates the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women while advocating for gender equality and women’s empowerment across all sectors of society.

In solidarity with women nationwide, female staff of the NLA gathered at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville for a colorful program that highlighted unity, pride, and the continued push for greater opportunities for women. The event provided an opportunity to recognize the vital role women play within the Authority and in Liberia’s broader national development.

Speaking during the celebration, the Assistant Director for Social Welfare at the National Lottery Authority, Madam Helena Bobo Dour, praised the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of the institution’s female workforce.

Madam Dour noted that women continue to play a significant role in the operations, growth, and transformation of the Authority. She emphasized that the NLA remains committed to promoting gender inclusion, equal opportunities, and a supportive work environment that allows women to excel professionally and contribute meaningfully to the institution’s mission.

She made the remarks on behalf of the NLA Management and female staff during the event held on Friday, March 6, 2026.

According to the Authority, the participation of more than 80 female employees in the celebration demonstrates the institution’s strong commitment to women’s empowerment and their contributions to nation-building. The presence of the female staff also symbolizes the increasing leadership and influence of women within the organization and across Liberia.

The National Lottery Authority also extended appreciation to women within the institution and across the country whose resilience, innovation, and leadership continue to inspire progress and social transformation.
